Description

Romania. XVII century.

You are trapped in a mirror room, surrounded by four reflections of yourself, except... one of them is not a reflection. It is your gruesome twin brother who can at any moment attack you from behind and drink your blood. You have a pistol but it is only loaded with one sliver bullet.

Can you escape from the mirror room and save your country from the villain?

    HOW TO PLAY

    1. Turn up the volume and listen carefully to what the protagonist has to say*, as it will not be repeated in text. You can find in his words everything you need to complete the game.
    2. Every turn, the protagonist turns randomly (sorry for the tautology) to one of the mirrors. You cannot control that, and there's no logic in his movements: if you were in his place, I bet you wouldn't be very rational either.
    3. As this is an interactive fiction game, you have to type instructions that the protagonist will try to follow, keeping an eye on his reflection. Both the protagonist's actions and their reflections are presented in the game in form of text. In fact, they are the only text you will get to see.
    4. With one important exception, your instructions do not affect the gaming process directly.
    5. That being said, you will have to figure out how to win the game yourself. It shouldn't be too hard if you pay attention, but just in case there's a hints section below.

    * Sorry for the accent, the protagonist is Romanian, remember? Meant to be, anyway.

    HOW TO RUN THE GAME

The game only runs under Windows. Open the game file (.qst) with a FireURQ interpreter (fireurq.exe). You can download the lastest version of the interpreter from http://ifwiki.ru/files/Fireurq.zip. Also, see excellent instructions for URQ (Universal RipSoft) games by uux.

I love it

What a great game! It makes my roommate go crazy (he wasn't playing...he just heard)

Amazing production

I just played this. The audio on this is great -- nice job with both the voice acting and mixing. I'm not usually a big fan of audio or other media as part of text adventures, but this is a real eye-opener in terms of what can be done. With very little coding, this work does an excellent job in telling a story.

BTW, Loved the ending (all of it).

Thanks!

Thanks! We're glad you liked the game. It's our first-ever game in English, and also the first time we've voiced a game (not to mention Evg has never written such a small game before =) ), and it's great to know it was worthwhile!

Evg, since when do they spell

Evg, since when do they spell your Russian name with two "n"'s?;)

Standalone version + Walkthrough

I figured it wouldn't hurt to create a stand-alone version of the game for those who don't feel like installing the interpreter or can't get make it through the setup (which is in Russian only). Here it is: http://urq.plut.info/files/srorrim.exe
Also, for those who still can't beat the game after reading the hints section here is the walkthrough: http://urq.plut.info/files/walkthrough.txt
